This morning you'll enjoy an introductory tour of Tokyo. This includes visiting the Tsukiji Outer Market where you can encounter traditional Japanese cuisine.

Afterwards, you'll stop by the stunning Meiji Shrine, a Shinto religious site that was dedicated to the Imperial Family in 1926. Enjoy walking among the serene gardens that surround the shrine as you learn details about its importance from your guide.

You'll then enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore this fascinating city.

After breakfast, you'll embark on an approximately 350-kilometre journey, starting at Mt Fuji’s 5th Station. Located 2300 metres above sea level, it offers a commanding view of the Fuji Five Lakes area below, making it a popular spot even for those who do not intend on climbing the mountain, and features shrines, torii gates and souvenir shops.

Afterwards, you'll continue to Lake Kawaguchiko to admire the scenery as you enjoy a short cruise across the lake. The waters are overlooked by surrounding mountains including both Mt Fuji and Mt Komagatake.

Today is a fun day to visit the countryside of Japan and see how local people live. Cover 170 kilometres during the drive to Shirakawa-go which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site in 1995. The area is famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.

Afterwards, you'll visit Takayama Old Town to walk along Sannomachi Street which survives in a particularly pretty state with many old homes, shops and restaurants. Takayama was once a bustling hub drawing expert artisans, farmers and merchants from throughout the surrounding area. You'll find that Sanmachi, as well as Oshinmachi, preserves the traditional aesthetic of this time.

Finish the day in Gifu where you will check into your hotel for an evening at leisure.

This morning, you'll take a 140-kilometre trip to Kyoto where you'll enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of the ancient capital. First up visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, an important Shinto shrine in southern Kyoto. It’s famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which straddle a network of trails behind its main buildings. The tour continues with a visit to the iconic Temple of the Golden Pavilion where you'll see that the temple’s top two floors are coated in gold leaf, creating a dazzling mirror image in the pond on which it’s built.

Afterwards, enjoy the afternoon at your leisure or join one of the below optional activities, which can be booked during the trip directly with the operator.

This morning depart Kyoto for Nara and head to Nara Park to spot hundreds of free-roaming deer, which are considered the messengers of the gods. These deer have become a symbol of the city and have been designated national treasure status. Deer crackers are for sale around the park, and you'll find that some deer have learned to bow to visitors to ask to be fed.

You'll then visit the Todaiji Temple, one of Japan's most famous and historically significant temples and a landmark of Nara. The temple was constructed in 752 AD as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples in Japan.

Finish the day in Osaka where you can check into your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. There's something for everyone in Osaka as it's where you'll find the famous Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori shopping and entertainment districts.

This morning transfer to Shin-Osaka train station, where your bullet train awaits. Climb aboard and marvel at the train’s incredible velocity during a two-hour ride to Hiroshima.

On arrival, continue the journey to Miyajimaguchi by coach or train, then board a boat travelling to the majestic Miyajima Island, otherwise known as Itsukushima, or Divine Island.

This landmass is hailed as one of Japan’s most beautiful landscapes so enjoy discovering the natural and cultural treasures of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Island for 45 minutes with your guide. This is your chance to see the shimmering Itsukushima Shrine before enjoying a delicious lunch in a local eatery (not included).

Cruise back to Hiroshima to reflect on the history of the region. Take a moment of contemplation at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a historical site near to where the atomic bomb exploded. See exhibitions that articulate the destruction the bomb caused and marvel at the city’s regenerative recovery. Finally, board a bus to the Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome), a skeletal structure that miraculously survived the 1945 attack.

Return to the train station for the exhilarating return journey to Osaka on the bullet train, where the tour concludes.

This morning you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Busan.

Start by visiting the Yongdusan Dragon Head Park – it is called Yongdusan because the shape of the mountain resembles a dragon’s head emerging from the sea.

Then go to the iconic Busan Tower, a 120-metre high structure that provides a stunning bird’s eye view of the entire city of Busan, including islands and ships dotted in the distant seas.

From there visit the Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest of its kind in Korea and a popular 'must-see' site for tourists in Busan.

Afterward, travel to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, situated on the coast of the northeastern portion of Busan. This superb attraction offers visitors the rare find of a temple along the shoreline (most temples in Korea are located in the mountains).

Next, continue onwards to the Instagram-famous Gamcheon Culture Village. The village is formed by houses built in staircase fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain, earning the nickname 'Machu Picchu of Busan'. Many alleys that cut through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by the residents.

Finish the day back at your accommodation where you may enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Today is a free day at leisure to explore the beautiful city of Busan. Alternatively, you can take part in a full-day Busan city tour to visit some sights you did not see the previous day.

This morning you’ll visit Huinnyeoul Culture Village, a charming coastal village located on the sloping cliff of Yeongdo in Busan. In December 2011, the old houses of the area were remodelled and the area was reborn as a unique culture and art village where you can walk through and visit the numerous cafes and galleries while enjoying the sweeping views of Busan and the ocean. Afterwards, visit Songdo Beach where you can board the famous cable car to ride over the bay and enjoy views through the transparent floor of the cable car before stopping by the Sky Harbor Observatory Platform which offers beautiful views of the Songdo Sea and cable cars.

Return to Songdo Beach via the same cable car and take a short walk along the Songdo Cloud Walk which features sections of clear glass floor that creates the feeling of walking on top of the ocean. First opened in 2015, the 365-metre-long skywalk offers an amazing panoramic view of the surrounding area that has made the Skywalk a popular destination. You’ll then visit the Nurimaru APEC House, built to host the 2005 APEC Summit meeting at the tip of Dongbaek Island ( 동백섬), which stands near Haeundae Beach. This eye-catching glass building has been one of Busan’s symbolic places ever since.

Finally, you’ll visit the UN Memorial Cemetery ( Note. No sportswear/No revealing clothing/No strapless slippers.) after driving over the 7.4-kilometre Gwangandaegyo Bridge which is the longest bi-level bridge over the ocean in Korea.
On the way back to the hotel, you can visit Nampodong International Market which is one of Korea’s largest markets. Each alleyway is crowded with stalls and connects to Bupyeong Market, Kkangtong Market and other smaller markets. The market stocks such a wide variety of goods that you can find almost everything you need. Note. Tour Bus will pick you up in an hour, For those who need more time at the market, will need to make their own way back to the hotel (approximately 10-15 minute taxi).

This morning transfer to Gyeongju, the century-old historical Gyeongju City and 1,000-year-old capital of the Silla Dynasty. The Gyeongju Historic Areas were designated a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site in 2000. The protected areas encompass the ruins of temples and palaces, outdoor pagodas and statuary, as well as other cultural artifacts left by the Silla Kingdom. The historic areas are also known as one of the largest outdoor museums in the world.

Start your city tour from Bulguksa temple, also known as 'The Buddhist Country Temple'. Alongside the neighboring Seokguram Grotto Hermitage, Bulguksa Temple was designated a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site in 1995. Lastly, visit Daereungwon, also known as Tumuli Park which has more than 20 large and small tombs from the Silla Period. Pass by Chomsongdae Observatory, constructed as the lunar calendar, and Tumuli park exhibiting the Royal tombs.

In the afternoon you will proceed to the celebrated village of Jeonju, an important tourist centre that is famous for its Korean food and historic traditional buildings. In May 2012, Jeonju was chosen as a Creative City for Gastronomy as part of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network. This honour recognises the city's traditional home cooking handed down through generations over thousands of years, its active public and private food research, its system for nurturing talented chefs, and its hosting of distinctive local food festivals. Jeonju is the birthplace of Bibimbap (rice with vegetables & meat). In 2011, it was ranked 40th on the world's 50 most delicious foods readers' poll compiled by CNN Travel. We highly recommend you enjoy excellent Bibimbap food during your stay (not included).

This morning, We first visit Hanji Industry Center (Korean Traditional Mulberry paper). As Korea’s first center specializing in paper, it has an extensive collection of 3,000 artifacts and a database documenting the long history and superiority of Hanji (Korean paper). Additionally, you will have the opportunity to make Korean paper with wooden tools or Traditional Fan making and bring it back home.

Afterwards, take a tour of Jeonju Hanok, the largest traditional Korean village with various traditional cultural facilities in the downtown area.

The tour will then depart for Seoul, South Korea’s bustling capital. Your accommodation is located in Insadong, the heart of the city, and one of the cultural and artistic hubs of Seoul. There is one main road in Insadong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries, traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafes.

The galleries are the heartbeat of Insadong. There are hundreds of them in the area offering every example of traditional Korean fine art, from paintings to sculptures. The most famous are Hakgojae Gallery, which functions as the centre of folk art, Gana Art Gallery, which promotes many promising artists, and Gana Art Centre.

The teahouses and restaurants are the perfect complement to the galleries. They are hidden deep within the twisting alleyways, making it feel like a treasure hunt. The shops in Insadong are very popular among all age groups providing a unique experience for every taste.

This morning begin a Seoul city tour at the beautiful Gyeongbokgung Palace to experience the most representative edifices of the Joseon Dynasty (more than 500 years old).

Continuing onwards, enjoy a quick stop to witness the Traditional Royal Guard Changing Ceremony and the Presidential Blue House before arriving at the famous Bukchon Hanok Village.

Bukchon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional village in Seoul with a long history, located on the top of a hill between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. The traditional village is composed of many alleys and hanoks, preserved to showcase its 600-year-old urban environment. Here you will enjoy a guided walk and marvel at beautiful traditional homes.

After visiting the Bukchon Hanok village, you will enjoy a traditional Korean lunch where you will have the opportunity to try many dishes (vegetarian and vegan options available).

Finish the day with some time at leisure at the Dongdaemun open market, the largest of its kind in the Orient. Dongdaemun Market is a large commercial district of traditional markets and shopping centres that covers the entire area around Dongdaemun Gate, a prominent landmark in Korea. It is Korea’s largest wholesale and retail shopping district, featuring 26 shopping malls, 30,000 specialty shops and 50,000 manufacturers.

Nowhere is the tension between North and South Korea more palpable than in the no-man's-land known as the Korean Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ.

Located on each side of the 38th parallel, this infamous border was established at the end of the war in 1953 at the signing of Panmunjom’s armistice in order to separate North and South Korea.

This morning, head north towards the North Korean border. Upon arrival at the DMZ take the gondola to give a perfect bird's eye view of the Demilitarized Zone. Then enjoy a tour of Imjingak Resort. Imjingak Resort has various war-related artifacts as well as spacious Pyeonghwa Nuri Park. The resort preserves the Freedom Bridge and Imjingang rail bridge from the Korean War to remind people of the past, along with a Memorial Hall, memorial monuments, the Bell of Unification, the Last Train Out, The Bridge of No Return, and Dokgae Bridge symbolizes the pains of war and separation. The skywalk experience will be divided into three themes: past, present, and future.

Proceed to Bunker Beat 131, a military underground bunker constructed during the Korean War turned into a unique exhibition space. You can feel the atmosphere of a military facility from the entrance. Walking down the stairway, you will see the situation room of the command during wartime, followed by a short introduction at the United Nations camp.

We finally visit Odusan Unification Observatory (Closed on Mondays). After receiving a brief and listening to the precautions, you can also watch a 3D film about the war, to give an insight into the North Korean villages, people working and their daily lives.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide: 
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group. 
 
Tour Leader: 
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined. 
 
Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

Average temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C in March and gradually increase to 15°C to 25°C in May.
It is generally dry, although occasional rain showers occur.
 
Summer (June to August):
Summers in Tokyo are hot, humid, and can be uncomfortable.
Average temperatures range from 25°C to 30°C, and high humidity levels make it feel hotter.
July and August are the rainiest months, and occasional thunderstorms and typhoons occur during this time.
 
Autumn (September to November):
Autumn in Tokyo is characterised by mild temperatures and comfortable weather.
Average temperatures range from 20°C to 25°C in September and gradually decrease to 10°C to 20°C in November.
It is generally dry and less humid, with clear skies and beautiful autumn foliage.
 
Winter (December to February):

Summer (June to August):
Summers in Seoul are hot, humid, and can be quite muggy.
Average temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, with high humidity levels making it feel hotter.
July and August are the rainiest months, with frequent showers and occasional thunderstorms.
Seoul experiences some heat waves during the summer months, with temperatures occasionally soaring above 30°C.
 
Autumn (September to November):
Autumn in Seoul is considered the most pleasant season with mild temperatures and clear skies.
Average temperatures range from 15°C to 25°C in September and gradually decrease to 5°C to 15°C in November.
It is generally dry, and the foliage displays beautiful autumn colours, especially in October.
 
Winter (December to February):
Winters in Seoul can be cold and dry.
Average temperatures range from -5°C to 5°C in December and January, gradually increasing to 0°C to 8°C in February.

FLIGHTS
Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points:
We do not arrange seat selection. It is essential to highlight that some airlines do not allow pre-selected seats. We strongly suggest you contact the airline directly with seating allocation requirements and/or arrive at the airport earlier to arrange your seating. While we do not add frequent flyer member details to bookings, you can do this directly with the airline once you have your flight information.
 
Passport Validity:
Customers must provide valid passport details either at the time of purchase or no later than 45 days before the departure date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking. Customers will be responsible for any costs and fees incurred in this instance.
 
COACH TOUR
Meals:
For meals not included, the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. It is your responsibility to notify us of any dietary requests/requirements. Please note: We will do our best to meet your requests/requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to.
 
Luggage:
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on tour. You must carry your own luggage from the vehicle to the hotel room and back to the vehicle. The driver will assist with the uploading and unloading of bags from the vehicle.
 
OTHER

If you require wheelchair access please contact our friendly sales and service team to inquire on your behalf.
 
Fitness Level Required:
An easy/low level of fitness will be required. 
Easy/low is described as light walking on well-maintained surfaces, occasional climbing of stairs and ability to get on and off vehicles without assistance and stand for a minimum of 30 mins in hot/humid conditions. A general level of fitness and mobility.

Gratuities / Tipping:
Land
Japan & South Korea
Gratuities (tips) are not included for the services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour. The recommended tip is approximately $10 AUD per person per day in the equivalent local currency. This covers the guide/leader and the driver and will be collected on tour. 
 
Please note: Tipping for services provided is always a matter of personal discretion; however, please be aware that many locals consider tipping part of their normal remuneration, and they may approach you for payment; there's no need to be intimidated by the request.
 
Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).
 
Shopping: 
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts. 
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.

Japan & South Korea
A tourist visa is not required for Australian or New Zealand citizens visiting Japan for stays of up to 90 days for tourism, business, visiting friends or relatives, etc. that does not include remunerative activities.
 
Important: 
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules may have changed since Covid-19. Some countries and airlines may require you to obtain an additional visa before arrival. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination you're entering.
Please note: 
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Voluntary Changes
This includes booking changes requested by you, including but not limited to those changes requiring an airline ticket or a Purchase Confirmation reissue.
• Changes - $100 AUD per booking and any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel providers.
 
Name Changes Due To Passenger Error
• If the incorrect name has been provided, charges of $100 AUD per booking and any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel providers.
 
Supplier Fees
In the event the tour package you have purchased is unable to proceed, and/or a travel Supplier is unable to fulfil the tour due to external circumstances (Limitation of Liability e.g. a Force Majeure event), there may be a fee or amount of money that is withheld by our Suppliers and is unrecoverable. This may be due to non-refundable airline tickets, cancellation penalties with cruise cabins or unrecoverable payments with our land/accommodation partners. If refunds are not available from Suppliers, we will endeavour to obtain a travel credit on the best terms available and communicate these outcomes to you. In the event we are unable to obtain a refund or travel service credit, or part thereof, this cost is passed on to the customer as a Supplier Fee.
